New arts outreach for people living with dementia in the community and their carers

 

The Arts 4 Dementia Best Practice Conference will outline the constructive value and discuss the most effective means to bring artistic stimulation to people living with dementia in the community, to enable them to live better and longer in their own homes.

Keynote Speakers
 

 

Baroness Greengross OBE, Chair of the All-Party Parliamentary Group on Dementia and Chair of the New Dynamics of Ageing.

 

Harry Cayton OBE, Chair of the Council for Healthcare Regulatory Excellence, author of the Arts Council's Prospectus for Arts and Health (2006). Alzheimer Europe Award (2004).

 

Fundamentals of Delivering Arts 4 Dementia

 

Leading figures in arts and health, and care services will discuss delivery of artistic stimulation for dementia and the care pathway, and present guidelines for outreach at arts venues for people in the early stages of dementia and their carers.

 

Who should attend

 

Education managers of arts organisations, people with dementia, care managers, GPs, carers, Admiral nurses, community mental health teams, psychiatrists, social services and  local councils.
